Faculty - Artificial Intelligence / Intelligent Systems

About the role

Ashesi University is seeking faculty with expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Systems, Machine Learning and related areas to join the Computer Science and Information Systems Department. The department aims to educate ethical, innovative leaders who combine mastery of computing disciplines with a clear understanding of the link between theory and practice. Faculty help shape the curriculum, strengthen teaching and learning, and contribute to research and supervision.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field; a master's degree with relevant teaching experience will also be considered for adjunct and associate lecturer positions.
• Willingness to work in a team to develop and deliver an innovative, world-class curriculum.
• Willingness to teach in a participatory environment, with demonstrated hands-on teaching capability.
• Willingness to engage in research and supervise undergraduate projects.
• Familiarity with the liberal arts method of instruction; an undergraduate education at a liberal arts college is a plus.

Required skills

• Ability to design and teach three or more of the following courses: Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Data Science, Autonomous Robotics, Internet of Things, Building Intelligent Systems.
• Strong programming skills.
• Practical experience building intelligent systems or applying machine learning to real-world problems in a variety of domains.
• Demonstrated capability with computer technology, excellent written and verbal communication.

Selection begins immediately and continues until the position is filled; only shortlisted candidates are invited to interview and may be asked to give an academic seminar.
