Faculty - Computer Systems, Networks and Security

About the role

Ashesi University, a non-profit multidisciplinary university in Ghana, is seeking faculty with expertise in Computer Systems, Networks and/or Security to join its Computer Science and Information Systems Department. Faculty help shape the curriculum, strengthen teaching and learning, and contribute to research and supervision of undergraduate projects.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a related field; a master's degree with relevant teaching experience will also be considered for adjunct lecturers.
• Willingness to work in a team to develop and deliver an innovative, world-class curriculum.
• Willingness to teach in a participatory environment, with demonstrated hands-on teaching capability.
• Willingness to engage in research and supervise undergraduate projects.
• Familiarity with the liberal arts method of instruction; an undergraduate education at a liberal arts college is a plus.

Required skills

• Ability to design and teach three or more of the listed courses, such as Networks & Data Communications, IT Infrastructure & Systems Administration, Computer Organization & Architecture, Applied Cryptography & Computer Security, Internet of Things, Embedded Systems, Blockchain & Cryptocurrencies, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity and Privacy-Preserving Systems.
• Strong hands-on skills in the relevant areas, such as networking, systems administration, hardware and system design, and security.
• Demonstrated capability in the use of computer technology and excellent written and verbal communication.
