Farm Team Leaders - Tropical Crops (Ghana)

About the role

An international agricultural enterprise is developing a large-scale commercial farming operation in Ghana, focused on irrigated crop production and modern farming systems. It is supported by an experienced international development and investment partner and invests in agricultural growth, food production and operational excellence. Several Farm Team Leader positions are available for experienced professionals who can lead field workers in a commercial farming environment; crops include potatoes, ginger and coconut.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise field worker teams during planting, crop maintenance, cultivation and harvesting.
• Brief workers on daily targets, quality standards, safety requirements and work procedures.
• Monitor productivity and progress against daily production targets.
• Ensure work meets established quality standards.
• Coordinate and monitor the use of planting materials, inputs, tools and equipment.
• Enforce health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
• Identify and report crop, irrigation, equipment or operational issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, work completed, materials used and incidents.
• Communicate with supervisors about operational requirements and challenges.

Required profile

• Practical experience in commercial crop production and field operations.
• Previous experience leading or supervising small agricultural teams is advantageous.
• Ability to follow production plans and operational instructions accurately.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Good record-keeping ability and attention to detail.
• Commitment to safe working practices and quality standards.
