Field-Based Consultant (In-Person) for SALW Fellowship Training

About the role

This short‑term consultancy supports the SALW Fellowship training programme in West Africa. The consultant will work on‑site in Togo and Benin, adapting training materials, coordinating in‑person sessions and delivering monitoring and evaluation outputs.

Key responsibilities

• Adapt online and in‑person training modules, including French‑language content, for SALW Fellowship participants.
• Develop and maintain a monitoring and impact‑tracking tool, providing data‑entry support for individual projects of the 2026 cohort.
• Prepare a detailed workplan for in‑country training activities and produce a French background document on illicit SALW trends.
• Coordinate and implement in‑person training sessions, facilitating at least two capacity‑building workshops in each country.
• Conduct monitoring and evaluation activities, analyse outcomes and participant engagement.
• Draft comprehensive reports, including participant feedback, lessons learned and strategic recommendations.
• Produce an article and web story highlighting programme achievements.

Required profile

• Experience delivering training or capacity‑building programmes in African contexts.
• Proficiency in French for content development and reporting.
• Familiarity with small arms and light weapons (SALW) issues in the region.
• Strong organisational and coordination skills for on‑site implementation.
