Finance, Accounting & Internal Audit Internship

About the role

The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat is offering a short‑term internship for final‑year university students to support its finance, accounting and internal audit functions. Interns will work in a multicultural environment, gaining practical exposure to the operations of a major continental trade initiative.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in translating and interpreting working documents between English and French.
• Support routine finance and accounting tasks, including data entry and basic reporting.
• Contribute to internal audit activities, such as document review and preliminary analysis.
• Participate in projects linked to the Secretariat’s strategic orientations and corporate functions.
• Help promote AfCFTA initiatives to the public, especially youth audiences.

Required profile

• Final‑year student enrolled full‑time in a recognised university.
• National of an African Union member state and resident in Ghana.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and spoken English and French.

Required skills

• Proficiency in English‑French translation and interpretation.
• Basic understanding of finance, accounting and audit principles.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team.
