Finance Officer – Head of Finance Department

About the role

The Ghana Institute of Languages is looking for a qualified Finance Officer to lead its Finance Department. This senior role will oversee all financial activities, ensure compliance with regulations, and support the institute’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, present and interpret the institute’s final accounts to the Board of Management annually.
• Source funding and liaise with ministries, departments and agencies on financial matters.
• Present and defend the institute’s annual budget estimates.
• Develop and manage the annual operating budget for approval.
• Implement accounting policies and financial controls across the institute.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Director.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant with at least six (6) years of post‑qualification experience.
• Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Knowledge of accounting software used in tertiary institutions.
• Prior experience in a tertiary education environment is an advantage.
• Age not above 50 years.
• Based in Accra, Ghana.
