Financial Modeling, Valuation & M&A Analyst (Remote, Project‑Based)

About the role

CONNECT is seeking a remote, project‑based Financial Modeling, Valuation, and M&A Analyst to support its clients across Africa. You will build robust financial models, conduct valuations, and assist with deal execution for a variety of transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed financial models for valuation and scenario analysis.
• Perform DCF, comparable company, and precedent transaction valuations.
• Conduct financial and commercial due diligence, reviewing financial, legal, and operational data.
• Analyze historical and projected financial performance and prepare sensitivity analyses.
• Draft investment memoranda, presentations, and reports for stakeholders.
• Support deal execution, strategic initiatives, portfolio reviews, and capital allocation decisions.

Required profile

• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Solid knowledge of corporate finance, capital markets, and financial statement analysis.
• Experience in investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, or transaction advisory.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or related field; CFA/ACCA a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively, manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and financial modeling.
• Valuation techniques: DCF, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions.
• IFRS or other relevant accounting standards.
• PowerPoint and data‑visualisation tools.
