Full/Associate Professor of Finance

About the role

Ashesi University's Economics and Business Administration Department is recruiting a Full or Associate Professor of Finance. The professor delivers research-informed teaching and conducts cutting-edge research in finance, covering corporate finance, financial markets, investment analysis and risk management, while mentoring students. The role reports to the Head of Department and is a full-time academic position.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate finance courses, develop syllabi and materials, use technology, case studies and simulations, and design and mark assessments with constructive feedback.
• Publish in reputable academic journals, seek and manage research funding, and supervise student research projects, theses and capstones.
• Work with industry partners to keep the curriculum current, and lead guest lectures, workshops and networking events.
• Take part in departmental meetings, curriculum planning and finance-related departmental initiatives.

Required profile

• Full or Associate Professor in Finance.
• PhD in Finance or a closely related field.
• Strong publication record and proven record of teaching in higher education.
• Ability to obtain and manage external grants and funding.
• Active engagement with relevant professional bodies.

Required skills

• Expertise in financial theory and practice, including corporate finance, financial markets, investment analysis and risk management.
• Research statement, teaching philosophy and tentative research program.
