General Manager – Finance

About the role

The General Manager Finance will lead the Finance Department of Ghana Post, overseeing all financial and accounting activities across the national postal network. This senior position reports directly to senior management and is responsible for strategic cash management, project financing and internal control implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and manage all financial and accounting functions within the Finance Department.
• Implement a cash‑management system to monitor short‑term and long‑term cash positions, identifying deficits and surpluses.
• Lead project financing initiatives by accessing capital and debt markets, evaluating net present values and managing loan acquisition and repayment.
• Establish and enforce effective internal controls over expenses and revenues.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Fully chartered (CA, ACCA) with at least eight years post‑qualification management experience in the postal sector, or twelve years in a comparable commercial/industrial organisation.
• Maximum age of 45 years.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Hands‑on experience with accounting software.
