Global Multi-country Programme Manager – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term (Remote)

About the role

Generation is seeking a Global Multi‑country Programme Manager to coordinate and scale its delivery across satellite markets in West and East Africa. The 12‑month fixed‑term role is remote, with a focus on Nigeria, Kenya and Ethiopia, and will ensure the organisation’s methodology is implemented consistently.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of multi‑country cohorts, overseeing partnership development, Training Service Partner relationships, safeguarding compliance and in‑country representation.
• Develop and manage the multi‑country programme calendar, balancing cohort launches across geographies and allocating functional resources such as instructors, learner engagement staff and career coaches.
• Design and refine the operating model, addressing bottlenecks like dispersed mobilisation, cross‑border payments, local infrastructure support and harmonised data systems.
• Manage in‑country coordinators and teams, set expectations, provide performance management and ensure quality delivery by Training Service Providers.
• Resolve cross‑border operational challenges, including stipend payments, regulatory compliance, device and connectivity support, and data tracking across Salesforce and other systems.
• Develop contingency plans for country‑specific risks such as political instability, regulatory shifts, currency volatility and partner non‑performance.
• Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with local hubs, connectivity providers, government institutions, industry bodies and employer partners to support programme scale‑up.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in programme management, operations or project coordination, preferably in international development, workforce development or education.
• Proven track record of managing multi‑country or multi‑site programmes and coordinating remote teams.
• Strong project‑management skills, ability to handle complex workflows, multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with experience producing funder reports and stakeholder updates.
• High emotional intelligence, cultural sensitivity and commitment to expanding economic opportunity in Africa.
