Head of Claims – Non-Life Insurance

About the role

We are seeking an experienced non‑life insurance professional to lead our Claims Department. The Head of Claims will drive operational excellence, ensure fair and compliant claim settlements, and enhance the overall customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversee efficient claims processing and settlement.
• Lead, develop, and mentor a high‑performing claims team while promoting continuous improvement.
• Oversee complex, high‑value claims, offering technical guidance and ensuring sound decisions.
• Monitor departmental performance, claims trends, service standards, and KPIs.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in insurance, Business Administration, Finance, Law, Risk Management, or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as ACII, AIIG, or an equivalent insurance certification.
• 10–15 years of claims management experience in non‑life insurance, including 5–7 years in a senior leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of non‑life insurance claims and the Ghanaian insurance regulatory environment.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, negotiation, stakeholder management, and decision‑making abilities.
