Head of Finance

About the role

The Head of Finance provides strategic leadership and oversight for all accounting, financial reporting, tax, control and governance functions. Reporting directly to the CEO, the role acts as the principal advisor on financial matters and ensures the integrity and accuracy of the company’s financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations and ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Maintain compliance with IFRS and other applicable financial reporting standards.
• Establish and maintain accounting policies, lead month‑end and year‑end closing processes, and approve financial statements for executive and board review.
• Manage balance‑sheet reconciliations, fixed‑asset accounting and ledger management.
• Develop and implement the company’s tax strategy, ensuring compliance with corporate, withholding, payroll, VAT and other tax obligations.
• Oversee tax planning, audits, assessments, disputes and monitor changes in tax legislation.
• Design and maintain a robust financial control framework to safeguard assets and mitigate risks.
• Monitor adherence to accounting policies, delegated authority limits and lead investigations of financial irregularities.
• Oversee statutory financial reporting, ensure timely submission to regulators, auditors and other statutory bodies, and maintain effective relationships with external auditors.
• Support the Board and Executive Management on financial governance, develop accountability policies and participate in enterprise risk management from a financial perspective.

Required profile

• Strategic leader capable of providing high‑level financial guidance to the CEO and executive team.
• Demonstrated ability to ensure the highest standards of financial stewardship, accuracy and transparency.
• Strong understanding of accounting standards, tax regulations and financial governance requirements.
• Proven experience in building and maintaining effective control frameworks and risk‑management processes.
