About the role

Fido is building the future of finance in Africa through AI, data science and automation. As Head of Operations you will own the end‑to‑end efficiency of the business, define the target operating model and lead the automation and AI teams that bring it to life.

Key responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve core operational functions: business operations analysis, IT support, systems administration and back‑office.
• Define the target operating model, translate it into automation and AI initiatives and direct delivery teams.
• Partner with function owners to identify manual, error‑prone workflows and implement technology‑enabled solutions.
• Package successful optimisations into repeatable playbooks and roll them out across markets.
• Ensure compliance with information security, business continuity, data protection and regulatory requirements.
• Manage technical service providers and vendors, overseeing performance, contracts and redundancy planning.
• Oversee operational readiness for product launches and contribute to product design.
• Own the operations budget and deliver measurable efficiency gains.
• Build and coach a high‑performing operations team.

Required profile

• Operational domain expert with a clear vision for an efficient organisation.
• 8+ years of operations experience, including at least 3 years leading teams in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
• Systems thinker with strong ownership, able to translate data and insight into operating decisions.
• Proven track record of cost reduction and process optimisation.
