Head of Supply Chain Management

About the role

The Head of Supply Chain Management will lead strategic initiatives across spend management, category optimization, vendor performance, and contract governance to drive cost avoidance, savings, and operational resilience for Telecel Ghana.

Key responsibilities

• Apply category management frameworks and tools to capture value across spend categories using Design to Cost and Supply Chain Cost Modelling.
• Serve as subject‑matter expert on procurement, supply chain, and contract management, advising senior leadership and the Board.
• Lead logistics excellence covering warehousing, customs clearance, transportation, inventory control, and asset disposal.
• Own end‑to‑end contract lifecycle management, ensuring legal robustness and regulatory compliance.
• Drive operational performance by meeting savings targets, managing PR/PO turnaround times, and overseeing supplier performance.
• Establish a supply market risk management framework through regular spend analysis.
• Ensure GDPR and other regulatory compliance via a governed master data system.
• Identify and develop high‑potential talent, creating clear career paths within the function.

Required profile

• First degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management (10+ years experience) or Commercial/Engineering degree (15+ years experience) with 5 years at executive level.
• Professional qualification such as MCIPS with 5+ years post‑qualification procurement experience.
• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Procurement, Project Management, Telecoms, or Materials Engineering (desirable).
• Experience in telecommunications or technology‑driven organisations (strong advantage).
• Proficiency in Oracle ERP or similar financial and supply chain systems.
• Professional certifications (ACCA, CIMA, ICA, CPA) are a plus.
