About the role

A school in North Ridge, Accra is looking for a Headmistress to lead the school and drive improvements in teaching and learning outcomes. The role works closely with the Chief Executive and the Accountant.

Key responsibilities

  • Review, develop and implement school policies and procedures to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Analyse weaknesses in learning delivery and pupil performance, and develop strategies to improve pupil performance at all levels.
  • Foster a safe, learning-conducive environment.
  • With the Chief Executive, hire, supervise, evaluate and mentor staff.
  • Plan, oversee and manage resource allocation to support improvement strategies.
  • With the Accountant and Chief Executive, contribute to the preparation of the school budget.

Required profile

  • First degree in Education, or first degree with a postgraduate qualification in Education.
  • Minimum of 20 years of teaching experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years as a Head of Department or higher.
  • Experience dealing with demanding parents and guardians.
