Hygiene Coordinator – Local Hire

About the role

The Hygiene Coordinator will support the Hygiene, Health, Safety and Sustainability Manager and the Executive Chef in maintaining the hotel’s food safety and hygiene standards. Working within the kitchen and stewarding teams, the role ensures compliance with local and international regulations while contributing to guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all Food & Beverage/Kitchen staff have adequate food safety knowledge.
• Organise and record food safety meetings and trainings.
• Develop and monitor food safety committees and action plans.
• Conduct daily routine checks of kitchen, bar, freezer, and fridge areas.
• Prepare monthly and weekly hygiene reports for management.
• Inspect pastry counters, buffets, and restaurant displays.
• Support external catering events and evaluate hygiene gaps.
• Facilitate visits from governmental bodies and maintain positive relations.
• Source and audit suppliers for hygiene compliance.
• Coordinate pest‑control programmes with the Stewarding department.
• Collect food samples from events for reference.

Required profile

• BA/BSc in Food Production, Food Safety, Agriculture or a related field.
• Certification in food safety/HACCP or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of disease prevention, behavior‑change models and local health regulations (CDC or OSHA standards).
• 2–5 years of practical experience in infection control, WASH or food safety within a hospitality environment.
