Information Technology Officer – IT Infrastructure Support

About the role

The Information Technology Officer will be based on‑site in Accra and will ensure the reliability and security of SOLNetwork Africa’s IT infrastructure. This full‑time position involves monitoring systems, providing technical support to staff, and collaborating with management to meet technology needs.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and support computer systems, networks, hardware and software.
• Provide technical support, diagnose and resolve IT issues, and perform routine troubleshooting.
• Manage user accounts, system updates, backups and documentation of procedures and incidents.
• Collaborate with management to identify technology requirements, implement improvements and ensure data security and compliance.
• Oversee website management and social media project implementation.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of information technology and hands‑on experience with computer systems and enterprise applications.
• Proven troubleshooting and technical support abilities.
• Network administration expertise, including configuration, monitoring and securing LAN/WAN environments.
• System administration experience for servers, operating systems, user accounts, backups and security settings.
• Relevant degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science or related field; certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft or Cisco are a plus.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently and collaborate with diverse teams.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Experience supporting IT in corporate, educational or consultancy settings in Africa is beneficial.
