Internal Audit Assistant

About the role

The Internal Audit Assistant will join the internal audit team of Western Serene Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi. This full‑time, on‑site position supports the planning and execution of audit reviews across financial, operational and compliance areas, helping to safeguard the hotel’s assets and improve processes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and conducting audit reviews of financial, operational and regulatory processes.
• Gather, analyse and verify data and documentation to test internal controls.
• Prepare clear workpapers, audit findings and concise reports for management.
• Identify control gaps, inefficiencies and potential risks, and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with department heads to follow up on audit recommendations.
• Maintain accurate audit records and support regulatory compliance initiatives.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of hotel policies, procedures and audit methodologies.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret financial and operational data accurately.
• Good documentation review and record‑keeping skills.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles, internal control concepts and risk assessment techniques.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
• Organised and able to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Audit, Business Administration or a related field.
• Previous internship or work experience in audit, finance or hospitality operations is an advantage.
