About the role

This full‑time, on‑site position is based in Accra and focuses on conducting financial and operational audits, preparing detailed reports, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. The Internal Auditor will work closely with multiple teams to strengthen controls, improve efficiency, and support risk‑management initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and execute internal audits across operational, financial, administrative, and compliance functions.
  • Review internal controls, policies, and procedures, identifying weaknesses and recommending improvements.
  • Assess compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Prepare audit plans, programs, findings, and comprehensive audit reports.
  • Perform risk assessments and support enterprise risk‑management initiatives.
  • Investigate discrepancies, fraud risks, and control breaches as needed.
  • Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and corrective actions.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of financial and operational systems, including procurement, claims processing, payments, and reconciliations.
  • Assist management with advisory insights to improve efficiency and accountability.
  • Maintain proper audit documentation and evidence for all assignments.
  • Support external audits and regulatory inspections when required.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Economics, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., ICA, ACCA, CIA, CISA) is an advantage.
  • 3–5 years of experience in internal audit, risk, compliance, or finance.
  • Experience in insurance, pensions, healthcare, or financial services is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, auditing standards, and risk‑management principles.
  • Knowledge of Ghana’s financial‑sector regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Required skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
