Internal Auditor

About the role

Kumawuman Rural Bank is inviting applications for an Internal Auditor based in Kumawu, Ashanti Region. The successful candidate reports to the Board of Directors and leads the Internal Audit function, making sure operating policies, procedures and performance standards meet the bank's operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Pre-audit and post-audit of expenditures
• Cooperate with external auditors so the bank's financial statements can be audited successfully
• Carry out operational and ad hoc investigations and handle issues arising from audit exercises
• Produce accurate, objective reports guiding management and the Board on compliance with control procedures
• Investigate violations of operational procedures and recommend preventive or remedial actions
• Ensure financial records are kept accurately
• Maintain organisational and professional ethical standards
• Identify and evaluate the bank's risk areas

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance or Banking, with a relevant professional qualification (ICA/ACCA/CIB); an MBA is an advantage
• 10 years of post-qualification experience in finance and banking, of which 5 years at management level
• At least 45 years of age

Required skills

• Strong analytical and planning skills, leadership and attention to detail
• Computer literacy, especially e-Merge (T24 banking software)
