IT Project Manager

About the role

First National Bank Ghana is seeking an IT Project Manager to lead the planning, execution and delivery of technology projects that drive business change. The role involves coordinating people, processes and resources across the bank’s IT portfolio to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to scope.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate and manage the project planning process, defining scope, goals and objectives.
• Develop detailed project plans outlining tasks, resources, timelines and deliverables.
• Manage project resources—including people, procurement, systems, time and budget—throughout the project lifecycle.
• Build and maintain working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance collaboration and innovation.
• Implement change management practices and ensure successful adoption of changes.
• Continuously develop expertise in industry and subject‑matter areas.
• Lead indirect or direct teams, provide technical coaching and influence performance.
• Plan and allocate people resources in line with delivery objectives and budget.
• Monitor project turnaround times and quality standards, resolving issues promptly.
• Advise on projects from initiation to completion in accordance with governance guidelines.
• Contribute to project budgeting, control and reporting.
• Maintain relationships for expectation management and project reporting.
• Compile and maintain project documentation to meet audit and procedural requirements.
• Diagnose problems, make decisions and provide solutions.
• Define project success criteria and communicate them to all stakeholders.
