Junior Accountant (Accounts & Procurement)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to support both accounting and procurement functions within our manufacturing business. You will work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure accurate financial records and efficient sourcing of supplies.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions in Xero, post journal entries, and perform month‑end adjustments.
• Conduct bank and supplier reconciliations, maintain accounts payable/receivable ledgers, and process invoices.
• Support statutory filings such as VAT, withholding tax, and PAYE, and assist with audit documentation.
• Coordinate procurement of raw materials and consumables, source suppliers, obtain quotations, and raise purchase orders.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date supplier database, monitor stock levels, and collaborate with warehouse and production teams.
• Maintain accurate records in Xero and use Excel to create procurement trackers and simple spend‑analysis reports.

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidate with up to 12 months of relevant experience.
• Ability to work under guidance of the Finance Manager and follow internal approval procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Xero accounting software.
• Strong Excel skills for data tracking and analysis.
