Junior Swine Technician

About the role

Wills Farms Ltd is seeking a Junior Swine Technician to join its team on‑site in Nsawam. This full‑time position supports daily animal care, breeding, farrowing and weaning activities while adhering to strict biosecurity and welfare standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with feeding, watering, cleaning pens and maintaining overall pen hygiene.
• Monitor pig health and behavior, report any issues promptly and support treatment administration.
• Help with breeding, farrowing and weaning processes following farm protocols.
• Maintain basic records of animal performance, treatments and movements.
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of facilities and equipment.
• Work closely with senior technicians and farm management, following instructions and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Foundational animal handling and care skills with interest in pig farming or animal science.
• Ability to follow biosecurity, hygiene and safety procedures in a physically demanding farm environment.
• Basic record‑keeping, observation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong teamwork, communication and reliability; positive attitude toward learning.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends and holidays.
• Minimum secondary education; vocational or technical training in agriculture is an asset.
