Linenkeeper & Tailor (Hotel Stores)

About the role

The Linenkeeper‑Tailor is responsible for delivering a high‑quality, efficient linen operation while upholding public health standards and ensuring total guest satisfaction. Reporting to the Hotel Stores Manager, the role combines inventory control, uniform tailoring, and guest‑service duties on a hotel or cruise‑ship environment.

Key responsibilities

• Handle daily circulation of all linen and uniforms, keeping inventories accurate and up‑to‑date.
• Maintain a clean, orderly linen store and issue linen, towels, and uniforms to housekeeping, suite attendants, and crew.
• Repair broken or soiled linen and uniforms; manage damaged‑item reporting and disposal after approval.
• Respond promptly to guest tailoring requests, enquiries, and complaints, ensuring satisfaction.
• Record tailoring work on a cruise‑by‑cruise basis and issue uniforms to new crew members.
• Collect and verify returned uniforms from departing crew, reporting discrepancies.
• Receive new linen, towels, and uniforms, completing counts within three days of delivery.
• Monitor par levels, request requisitions, and prepare for seasonal uniform changes.
• Perform minor repairs on soft furnishings, curtains, and drapes in public areas.
• Maintain the chemical locker (Silver Spirit and Silver Muse), ensuring accurate stock records and safe handling.
• Communicate regularly with the Hotel Stores Manager and other departments, adhering to departmental standards and completing side‑duty assignments.
