Lubrication Technician – Process Plant

About the role

The Lubrication Technician – Process Plant will ensure all routine and corrective lubrication activities on process plant equipment are performed to the required standards, supporting reliable and efficient mining operations at the Obuasi Gold Mine.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine and corrective lubrication according to Total Fluid Management standards.
• Coordinate inventory, order lubricants, and maintain stock locations.
• Drain, clean, fill and top‑off reservoirs; change filters and breathers.
• Operate and maintain filtration and dispensing equipment, both manual and automatic.
• Label, tag and document reservoirs, equipment and delivery containers.
• Schedule and record lubrication activities in the maintenance system.
• Perform field‑level oil analysis (crackle, viscosity, demulsibility, blotter test) and evaluate results for predictive maintenance.
• Report discrepancies, propose cost‑reduction initiatives and execute improvement projects.
• Monitor equipment performance via the asset health system and intervene when safety risks are identified.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum five years of mining experience, including 2‑3 years in a process plant environment.
• Familiarity with Ghana Minerals and Mining (Health, Safety and Technical) Regulations.
• Valid Inspecting/Operating Certificate of Competency issued by Mincom.
