Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Nestlé Ghana is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to lead the maintenance function of its production plant in Tema. The role ensures that the shift production plan is achieved on time while meeting safety, quality, cost, delivery and environmental standards. You will work closely with production, quality and reliability teams to drive manufacturing excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead execution of planned and corrective maintenance across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and automation assets.
• Enforce work order discipline and maintain accurate AMM/SAP PM data through Technical Supervisors and the Maintenance Planner.
• Conduct breakdown analysis (BDA, GSTD, RCA) and collaborate with the Reliability Engineer to eliminate chronic losses.
• Manage cost mix of breakdown, planned, condition‑based and third‑party maintenance, prioritising repair over replacement.
• Coach and develop Technical Supervisors, the Maintenance Planner and maintenance technicians.
• Partner with Production to remove safety risks, quality defects and technical issues.
• Drive adoption of digital maintenance tools such as AMM Mobile, POKA, TrendMiner, condition monitoring and DMO analytics.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience, with at least 3 years managing a maintenance team, preferably in FMCG.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or a related engineering discipline.
• Hands‑on experience across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and automation basics.
• Strong knowledge of TPM/NCE methodologies, preventive and predictive maintenance, and structured problem‑solving techniques.
• Experience participating in CAPEX projects and new equipment start‑ups.
• Proven ability to work in cross‑functional teams (Production, Quality, SHE, Reliability).
