Management Accountant – Process Plant

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti is redeveloping the Obuasi Gold Mine into a modern, fully mechanised operation. We are looking for an experienced, self‑motivated Management Accountant to support the Process Plant, ensuring cost data and performance metrics are captured accurately and on time for strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain management accounting processes for the mine redevelopment, including operational readiness.
• Lead recruitment and localisation of the Management Accounting team.
• Provide planning data for quarterly updates of the 18‑month rolling plan.
• Prepare and analyse cost‑centre budgets, supporting annual, medium‑term and Life‑of‑Mine business plans.
• Collaborate with department heads to align budget guidelines with financial and operational requirements.
• Consolidate departmental budgets, participate in review meetings, and produce reports for the HFM pack.
• Ensure timely reconciliation of fuel, contract, and labour cost accruals before month‑end close.
• Validate transactions in the financial database to guarantee reliable cost data for management reports.
• Capture operating and capital expenditures accurately in the General Ledger each reporting period.
• Demonstrate safety leadership and promote a strong culture within the finance team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in management accounting within a mining or heavy‑industry environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to produce accurate, timely financial information.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with senior stakeholders and cross‑functional teams.
• Self‑driven, capable of leading a team and driving localisation initiatives.
• Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
