Management Accountant – Process Plant

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti Ghana is redeveloping the Obuasi Mine into a modern, mechanised operation. The Management Accountant – Process Plant will capture, analyse and report plant costs and performance to support timely decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Establish Management Accounting processes and practices for the mine redevelopment, including operational readiness.
• Develop and lead recruitment for the Management Accounting team to meet localisation objectives.
• Map internal stakeholder relationships and set up regular communication routines.
• Provide planning data for quarterly updates of the rolling 18‑month plan.
• Prepare Management Accounting data in line with quality‑assurance standards.
• Produce timely assessments, conclusions and analyses of accounting data.
• Develop the annual cost‑centre budget to support annual, medium‑term and Life‑of‑Mine plans.
• Liaise with departmental heads to contextualise budget guidelines and support budget template updates.
• Consolidate departmental budgets and present them in review meetings with senior management.
• Prepare consolidated budget and business‑plan reports for inclusion in the HFM pack.
• Deliver the Management Accounting function within approved budget targets and KPIs.
• Ensure accurate month‑end reconciliations of fuel, contract accruals and labour cost accruals.
• Review transactions in the financial database to guarantee data reliability.

Required profile

• Experienced and self‑motivated professional.
• Entry‑level qualification as indicated in the posting.
• Ability to work in a mining environment and collaborate with multiple departments.

Required skills

• HFM (Hyperion Financial Management) for budgeting and reporting.
