Materials Planner

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti is redeveloping the Obuasi Gold Mine into a modern, fully mechanised operation. We are looking for an experienced, self‑motivated Materials Planner to support daily, weekly and monthly materials planning activities and ensure the mine’s material requirements are met efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Execute established materials planning processes, including cataloguing new items, materials engineering and stock replenishment.
• Maintain high‑quality SAP Materials Master data and ensure compliance with governance procedures.
• Coordinate workflow between Materials Planning, Purchasing, Warehouse, Planned Maintenance, Engineering and Operations.
• Advise end‑users on substitute materials, superseded specifications and creation of new stock codes.
• Monitor PR‑PO cycle times and support internal KPI targets.
• Collect, interpret and analyse data to produce accurate stock replenishment reports and recommendations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in materials planning or inventory management, preferably in a mining or industrial environment.
• Strong analytical abilities with a focus on data quality and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills to build relationships across Operations, Maintenance, Purchasing and Finance.
• Self‑driven attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement.
