Mechanical Engineer – Industrial & Mining Sectors

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support engineering operations across mining, construction, industrial, oil & gas, marine, power, water and telecommunications sectors. The role involves maintaining mechanical systems, ensuring equipment reliability and delivering engineering solutions that boost efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Design, install, maintain and troubleshoot mechanical systems and industrial equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery and components.
• Support technical operations and field service activities at client sites.
• Analyse mechanical failures and propose practical engineering solutions.
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance schedules and engineering documentation.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Coordinate with suppliers, contractors and technical teams during project execution.
• Assist in equipment selection, procurement and inventory management of mechanical parts.
• Monitor equipment performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical support to customers and internal teams.
• Participate in installation, commissioning and testing of industrial equipment.
• Deliver all engineering activities within project timelines and budget.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum five years of proven experience in industrial, mining, construction, manufacturing, oil & gas or related sectors.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, compressors, rotating equipment and industrial machinery.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar design software is an advantage.
• Good understanding of maintenance planning and reliability engineering principles.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and report‑writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel to operational and client sites as required.
