National Consultant – Mapping Youth‑Led Networks & Influencers in Ghana

About the role

The consultant will support UNFPA's EmpowerED initiative by mapping youth‑led networks, organisations and digital influencers working on sexual and reproductive health and broader youth development topics across seven regions in Ghana.

Key responsibilities

• Review baseline findings and national reproductive health plans to inform the mapping methodology.
• Develop and deploy a digital data‑collection tool to capture information on youth‑led actors in primary (Greater Accra, Bono East, Oti) and secondary regions.
• Collaborate with NYA Regional Directors and implementing partners to verify and enrich the dataset.
• Audit existing SRHR interventions, assess financial sustainability, and evaluate technical capacity gaps.
• Conduct regional consultations to validate findings and produce a final report with a structured database and strategic recommendations.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in social sciences, public health, development studies, communication or related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in stakeholder mapping, landscape analysis or research with youth‑led organisations.
• Demonstrated ability to use youth‑centred, participatory data‑collection methods, including digital and social‑media approaches.
• Working knowledge of the socio‑cultural context of Greater Accra, Oti and Bono East.
• Experience engaging national youth institutions such as the National Youth Authority.
