On‑Call Radiographer – Kumasi

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking an on‑call radiographer to support its Health Assessment Programme in Kumasi, Ghana. The role involves acquiring high‑quality chest X‑ray images for refugees and migrants in accordance with IOM and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Take chest X‑ray images as requested, following IOM and international radiographic standards.
• Perform additional chest views when required and explain the examination procedures to applicants.
• Prepare equipment and examination rooms, verify applicant identification and enter biodata correctly.
• Apply radiographic techniques and radiation‑protection measures, including pelvic and pregnancy shielding, proper positioning, collimation and exposure‑factor selection.
• Process digital images on CR/DR systems, assess image quality and repeat scans when necessary.
• Report urgent findings to radiologists or physicians and contribute to maintaining high‑quality imaging standards.

Required profile

• Experience performing chest X‑ray examinations in a clinical or screening setting.
• Ability to follow detailed technical instructions and maintain accurate records.
• Good communication skills to explain procedures and answer applicant questions.
• Commitment to adhere to radiation safety protocols.
