Paramedic / Emergency Medical Technician – Accra

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic, customer‑focused Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician to join the new Bank Hospital in Accra, Ghana, slated to open in Q2 2021. The role involves responding to emergency calls, providing on‑site medical care, and safely transporting patients to medical facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate emergency response teams, assess injury severity, and initiate appropriate medical procedures.
• Provide emergency medical treatment, including medication administration, pain relief, IV infusions, wound dressing, and advanced life support.
• Operate medical equipment such as bag‑valve‑mask resuscitators, external defibrillators, and ECG monitors.
• Drive the ambulance to designated locations, monitor patient condition en route, and communicate patient status to receiving physicians.
• Maintain and decontaminate the ambulance and medical equipment, and complete accurate incident reports.
• Administer drugs under physician direction and coordinate with other emergency personnel to ensure seamless patient hand‑over.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in paramedical science, associate degree, or equivalent medical training.
• At least one year of paramedic experience.
• Valid EMT‑P certification/EMS license and CPR certification.
• Clean driving record complying with AMR safety and driving policy.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• High level of fitness, stamina, and physical agility; able to work irregular hours, weekends, and holidays.

Required skills
