Paramedic / Emergency Medical Technician

About the role

Halcome Management Services is seeking a qualified Paramedic / Emergency Medical Technician to join the new Bank Hospital in Accra. The role involves responding to emergency calls, providing on‑site medical care, and safely transporting patients to medical facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to emergency medical calls and assess patient conditions.
• Provide first‑aid, administer medication, pain relief, and intravenous infusions.
• Operate life‑support equipment such as bag‑valve‑mask resuscitators, external defibrillators and electrocardiograms.
• Drive the ambulance to the scene and en route to the hospital while monitoring patient status.
• Document patient injuries, treatments and communicate findings to physicians.
• Maintain and decontaminate ambulance and medical equipment.
• Prepare and submit accurate incident reports.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in paramedical science or equivalent medical training.
• At least one year of paramedic experience.
• Valid EMT‑P certification/EMS license and CPR certification.
• Clean driving record complying with safety policies.
• Ability to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Operation of bag‑valve‑mask resuscitators.
• Use of external defibrillators.
• Performance of electrocardiograms (ECG).
• Intravenous infusion techniques.
