Pharmacist – Retail Pharmacy (Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi)

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Pharmacist to join a leading pharmaceutical company in Ghana, working in retail pharmacies located in Accra, Kumasi or Takoradi. The role involves dispensing medicines, counseling patients and supporting pharmacy operations.

Key responsibilities

• Dispense pharmaceutical and medical products as prescribed by doctors.
• Review prescriptions for accuracy, suitability and therapeutic compatibility.
• Provide customers with information on drug usage, side effects, dosage and storage.
• Interpret symptoms, offer immediate treatment or refer customers to a physician.
• Deliver pharmaceutical care and counseling on drug interactions.
• Monitor patients’ drug therapies to avoid adverse interactions.
• Assist in resolving therapeutic incompatibilities identified in physicians’ directives.
• Advise management on essential product items to stock by pharmacological class.
• Track industry trends and propose improvements to pharmacy practice.
• Generate innovative ideas to keep the pharmacy competitive.

Required profile

• Bachelor degree in Pharmacy, Pharm D or M Pharm.
• Member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana with a valid practising licence.
• Minimum three years’ experience in a similar pharmacy role.
• Residence in Accra, Kumasi or Takoradi.

• Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and industry trends.
