Poultry Farm Manager

About the role

The Poultry Farm Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily care and management of approximately 600 birds at our farm in Kumasi. You will ensure optimal health, feeding, and welfare of the flock while maintaining a clean and biosecure environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily care of ~600 birds, monitoring health, growth and behavior.
• Implement and follow feeding schedules, ensuring proper nutrition.
• Operate and monitor the automatic drinking system, checking for blockages or leaks.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of poultry houses and surrounding areas.
• Clean and disinfect facilities and equipment as needed.
• Observe birds for signs of illness or injury and report promptly.
• Assist with medication administration and vaccinations under veterinary guidance.
• Keep accurate records of feeding, mortality, medication, vaccinations and other farm activities.
• Monitor bird mortality trends and report unusual increases.
• Enforce biosecurity measures to prevent disease outbreaks.
• Track feed, medication and supply levels, reporting shortages.
• Ensure proper ventilation and environmental conditions.
• Report maintenance needs, operational challenges or equipment faults.
• Perform any additional poultry‑related duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Previous experience in poultry farming or farm management (preferred).
• Basic knowledge of poultry care, feeding, hygiene and disease prevention.
• Physically fit, hardworking, reliable and responsible.
• Strong observation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Willingness to reside on‑site and use provided accommodation.

Required skills

• Operation of automatic drinking systems.
• Farm equipment monitoring.
• Basic farm record‑keeping.
