Programme Management Office (PRMO) – Senior Officer

About the role

The Programme Management Office (PRMO) Senior Officer supports the Head of PMO, Head of Programme and senior management in governing the Multi‑Country Office (MCO) portfolio across West Africa. The role ensures consistent project delivery, aligns activities with UNOPS standards and advances sustainable development objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide oversight, advisory and decision‑enabling functions for assigned portfolios.
• Assist project teams in applying UNOPS policies, best practices and gender action plans.
• Develop and maintain resource‑tracking and configuration‑management systems.
• Support project setup, implementation and closure, ensuring all plans (implementation, HR, procurement, quality, stakeholder engagement) are in place and followed.
• Monitor project health against scope, cost, schedule, quality and risk indicators; escalate issues as needed.
• Prepare regular project and corporate reports in line with donor and client guidelines.
• Coordinate the consolidation and tracking of unit plans and business‑level strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in programme and project management within an international development context.
• Strong understanding of UNOPS governance, standards and reporting requirements.
• Ability to identify risks early, provide timely guidance and support senior management decisions.
• Experience in developing gender‑responsive plans and monitoring their implementation.
