Programmes and Partnerships Officer

About the role

The Programme and Partnerships Officer is a key leader in the strategic planning, execution, coordination and oversight of LIFE-MAC Africa's initiatives. Working closely with the Executive Director and programme teams, the role ensures projects are delivered on schedule, within budget and in line with organisational protocols and donor requirements. It calls for strong project management, stakeholder engagement, team leadership and problem-solving skills.

Key responsibilities

• Direct the full lifecycle of assigned projects and programmes, from planning through implementation to closure.
• Develop work plans, implementation timelines and project budgets.
• Coordinate programme staff, consultants, volunteers and external partners.
• Track progress and proactively identify and mitigate implementation risks.
• Build and maintain partnerships with government bodies, educational institutions, development partners, donors and community groups.
• Ensure activities follow approved work plans, financial constraints and internal policies.
• Produce programme reports, presentations and updates for donors.
• Work with the MERL team to monitor performance, track indicators and assess outcomes.
• Help write proposals, concept notes and design new projects.
• Organise meetings, workshops, training sessions and stakeholder events.
• Oversee procurement and resource allocation.
• Document achievements, success stories, lessons learned and best practices.
• Supervise and guide interns, volunteers and project assistants.
• Carry out other programme tasks as directed by the Executive Director.
