Project Accountant – Women’s Innovation for Sustainable Enterprises (WISE)

About the role
The WISE (Women’s Innovation for Sustainable Enterprises) project, funded with over €5.5 million, seeks a Project Accountant to oversee its financial management. Based in Tamale, the accountant will work closely with the project team and partners across five districts, ensuring accurate budgeting, reporting and compliance with donor and government requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Enter and review all project transactions in SAP promptly.
- Monitor and liquidate advances and prepaid expenses, maintaining the sub‑ledger.
- Prepare quarterly, semi‑annual and year‑end financial reports and analyses for management decision‑making.
- Develop standard reporting templates for the project team and partners.
- Lead the preparation of the annual project budget and update monthly budget forecasts.
- Consolidate monthly community and partner visit reports and ensure proper filing of all financial documents.
- Respond to financial queries from donors, government agencies and internal stakeholders.
Required profile
- Based in Tamale with willingness to travel up to 40 % of the time to project districts and the Accra country office.
- Experience managing large project budgets (over €5 million) and preparing financial reports for donors.
- Strong knowledge of donor and government financial compliance standards.
