Project Director, Subika Growth

About the role

Newmont is seeking a senior Project Director to lead the Subika Growth initiative within its Ahafo mining operations in Ghana. You will be responsible for steering the project from planning through execution, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the entire project lifecycle, allocating resources and managing timelines to achieve strategic goals.
• Develop and apply project management frameworks and methodologies to streamline processes.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to project team leads, fostering professional development.
• Track progress, performance, and outcomes, ensuring delivery on scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
• Lead safety system implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement on the field.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while capitalising on opportunities.
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive project reports to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience directing large‑scale projects in the mining or related industrial sector.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
