Purchasing Superintendent

About the role

The Purchasing Superintendent will lead the procurement function for African Mining Services’ operations in Tarkwa, overseeing MRO and capital equipment purchases, contract administration and supply chain coordination. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures timely availability of parts, cost‑effective sourcing and compliance with audit and HSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily procurement and administrative duties for maintenance, repair, operating (MRO) and capital equipment purchases.
• Maintain purchasing system records, coordinate expediting, order reconciliation and parts distribution across departments.
• Supervise purchasing staff, enforce AMSG policies and develop succession plans.
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with company objectives.
• Coordinate purchasing activities with major user departments and ensure audit compliance.
• Provide detailed analysis and reporting using the Pulse ERP system.

Required profile

• BSc/HND in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in supply chain or procurement, preferably in mining.
• Strong knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment requirements.
• Physical fitness to work on project sites.

Required skills

• Advanced use of Excel and Word.
• Familiarity with Access (advantage).
• Proficiency with PRONTO and Pulse ERP systems.
