Quality Assurance Officer

About the role

Complete Farmer, an agri-tech and agri-supply chain company connecting global food buyers with African farmers, is hiring a Quality Assurance Officer. Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, the officer establishes, implements and maintains a quality management system so that agricultural processes, produce and equipment meet internal standards and international regulatory requirements. The role works with field teams, warehouse operations and leadership to ensure consistent, compliant and high-quality produce.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the agricultural value chain, from planting to post-harvest handling.
• Run regular internal audits against Global G.A.P., HACCP and other certification standards.
• Set inspection protocols for raw and processed produce and oversee testing for moisture content, size, weight and contamination.
• Define and manage Gold Standard crop specifications and handle non-conformance and rejection processes.
• Set preventive maintenance and calibration schedules for equipment and ensure optimal storage in warehouses and cold chain environments.
• Help acquire and maintain international quality certifications and act as the main contact for auditors and regulators.
• Train field officers and warehouse teams, supervise QA technicians and inspectors, and promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance with strong knowledge of quality control processes and standards.
• Experience developing SOPs, running audits and driving compliance initiatives.
• Detail-oriented, analytical and structured, with good communication and teamwork skills.
• Proactive, organized and disciplined, able to meet deadlines; integrity-driven.

Required skills

• Understanding of ISO, HACCP, Global G.A.P. or BRC standards and their practical application.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools for quality monitoring.
• Exposure to IoT-based agriculture systems or digital monitoring tools is an added advantage.
