Refrigeration Technician – Mining Site

About the role

The Refrigeration Technician will install, maintain, test and repair climate‑control, cooling and refrigeration systems at the Iduapriem Gold Mine. The role ensures equipment operates safely, efficiently and reliably to meet temperature, humidity and air‑quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance and routine inspections on HVAC, refrigeration and industrial kitchen equipment according to schedules and supervisor directives.
• Diagnose faults, perform timely repairs and complete planned maintenance to maintain high equipment availability.
• Ensure all work complies with technical, HSE, LOTO, refrigerant handling and gas safety standards.
• Coordinate health and safety aspects of engineering operations, including contractor safety management and risk assessments.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and service records to support engineering operations.

Required profile

• HND in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Certified HVAC Technician or equivalent accreditation.
• 4‑6 years of experience installing and maintaining HVAC, refrigeration and industrial kitchen equipment in a mining environment.
• Strong knowledge of workplace safety procedures and ability to work long hours with minimal supervision.
• Valid Ghanaian driver’s licence and ability to drive light vehicles.
