Regional Accountant

About the role

The Regional Accountant will manage financial operations across four cocoa‑buying districts in Ghana, supporting the Regional Manager to ensure accurate reporting, effective cash‑flow management and strong internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse district and regional financial reports, including profit & loss statements and overhead analysis.
• Manage collections, payments, reconciliations and bank account reviews.
• Support risk assessments, internal controls, compliance activities and audit processes.
• Monitor cocoa dispatches, stock movements, port expenses, losses and related operational costs.
• Conduct field visits, stock counts and audits to verify documentation and financial accuracy.
• Review Franchise Holder records and ensure accurate entries in EMPOWER/SAP.
• Provide timely reports and support the implementation of audit recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in accounting, finance, audit or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of MS Excel and financial reporting.
• Experience with accounting systems such as SAP or SAGE is an advantage.
• Audit experience and knowledge of cocoa/agriculture operations are preferred.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, conduct field visits and operate within rural communities.
