Remote Software Engineer (Go/Golang)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced software engineer to help build and evaluate large‑language‑model (LLM) datasets that simulate real‑world software engineering tasks. The role is fully remote and combines hands‑on development with AI research, allowing you to influence how LLMs interact with production code.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and triage issues from trending open‑source GitHub repositories.
• Set up and automate development environments, including Dockerization and repository configuration.
• Evaluate unit‑test coverage and code quality to benchmark LLM performance.
• Run, modify, and test real codebases locally to assess LLM bug‑fixing capabilities.
• Collaborate with researchers to select challenging repositories and design evaluation scenarios.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead small project teams when needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Tech‑lead level competence with complex codebases.
• Strong familiarity with public GitHub repositories and open‑source contribution workflows.
• Ability to work at least 20 hours per week with a 4‑hour overlap in PST.

Required skills

• Go (Golang) programming.
• Git version control.
• Docker containerisation.
