Remote Textile Designer – African Heritage Focus

About the role

We are looking for a creative Textile Designer to develop original textile concepts and patterns that celebrate African heritage while meeting contemporary fashion standards. This fully remote contract position will work closely with our fashion, media and lifestyle teams to turn ideas into production‑ready designs.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop textile prints, graphics and embroidery motifs that reflect African‑inspired aesthetics.
• Research trends, colours, fabrics and printing techniques relevant to the target market.
• Prepare detailed design specifications, repeat patterns and placement layouts for both digital and physical production.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, incorporate feedback and ensure alignment with brand guidelines.
• Maintain organized design files and deliver assets on schedule.

Required profile

• Proven experience in textile or surface design, preferably within fashion or lifestyle products.
• Strong understanding of African visual culture and heritage‑inspired design is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Embroidery and textile print development.
• Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
• Graphic design for textile applications, including repeat patterns and placement prints.
