Renal Technician

About the role

The Renal Technician will join the newly opening Bank Hospital in Accra, providing essential support for dialysis services. This role combines technical expertise with patient‑focused care to ensure safe and effective treatment for individuals with kidney disease.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, test, and maintain dialysis machines to guarantee optimal performance.
• Monitor patients throughout dialysis sessions, adjusting fluid removal rates as needed.
• Administer local anaesthesia and guide patients through the dialysis process.
• Collaborate closely with nurses and doctors to deliver coordinated care.
• Ensure all equipment is sterilised before use and adhere to strict safety and cleanliness standards.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations and attend to patient needs with empathy.
• Educate patients on post‑treatment care and health maintenance.
• Develop operational training material for staff.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in dialysis/nephrology technology.
• Registration with the Allied Health Professionals Council.
• Relevant clinical experience in a dialysis setting.
• Strong dedication to patient care and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good interpersonal abilities for teamwork.
