Research Chemist / Scientist – Polymer Innovation & Product Development

About the role

Elrisa Chemicals Ltd is seeking a motivated Research Chemist/Scientist to drive the creation of high‑performance polymer solutions for industrial use. Reporting to the R&D Director, you will move concepts from the laboratory to commercial products.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development of petroleum‑based and bio‑based resin technologies.
• Design, execute, analyse and document laboratory experiments with scientific rigor.
• Develop, optimise and validate new formulations, test methods and experimental approaches.
• Interpret results and provide technical recommendations for product commercialization.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations and deliver training sessions.
• Write and maintain SOPs and laboratory documentation.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, quality and commercial teams.
• Maintain a safe, organised laboratory environment in line with regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 0–5+ years of experience in polymer synthesis, formulation, characterization or application development.
• Experience with petroleum‑based or bio‑based polymer systems is preferred.
