Sales Intern (City Head)

About the role

The Sales Intern (City Head) supports the execution of sales strategies to drive revenue growth, increase market penetration and strengthen customer relationships within assigned territories. The role helps expand route coverage, improve product availability and visibility, support field sales activities and monitor sales performance, working closely with sales teams, distributors and customers. It offers practical experience in FMCG sales operations and route-to-market execution.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation of sales plans to meet monthly, quarterly and annual targets in assigned territories.
• Identify opportunities to grow existing markets, increase sales volumes and expand customer and outlet coverage.
• Monitor territory performance, market trends and competitor activity, and recommend improvements.
• Ensure products are available and visible across trade channels, and support merchandising by monitoring displays, shelf placement and promotions.
• Work with distributors and retailers to keep stock levels adequate and minimise out-of-stocks.
• Carry out regular market visits to check sales execution, customer engagement and brand presence.
• Help manage and coach sales representatives and merchandisers, and identify training needs.
• Build relationships with distributors, retailers and customers.
• Collect, analyse and report sales data and market intelligence, prepare sales reports, maintain customer records and support promotional campaigns.
