Scientific Coding Expert – Material Science (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Scientific Coding Expert in Material Science to develop and validate scientific problem specifications and solutions. You will work on the Turing Central Task Platform, ensuring high‑quality scientific data for AI model training. This short‑term contract offers $30 per hour for 10‑40 hours per week, fully remote.

Key responsibilities

• Write scientific problem specifications with logically connected sub‑problems.
• Implement verified golden solutions in Python with unit test coverage.
• Design discriminative test cases for model output differentiation.
• Run QC validation checks on the Turing Central Task Platform.
• Iterate on tasks based on QC feedback to meet evaluation criteria.
• Participate in sync calls for reviews and feedback sessions.

Required profile

• Master's or PhD in Material Science or a related field.
• Strong Python programming skills with experience in scientific computing.
• Ability to write rigorous scientific problems with clear constraints.
• Attention to detail in meeting strict rubrics for task quality.
• Experience in AI data annotation, research, or scientific writing.
• Familiarity with libraries like NumPy, SciPy, or domain‑specific tools.
